2021_KAAFL_Scholarship_Program
KAAFL Scholarship and Cultural Fund is designated to maintain the cultural integrity of Fort Lee’s Korean American community by funding the continued education of the younger Korean American generation. The KAAFL annually selects several deserving high school students to receive KAAFL scholarships. The scholarships are aimed at promoting educational opportunities for all students (not only Korean American students) and to encourage them to discover and explore their cultural heritage. Please review the following information for eligibility and criteria for receiving the KAAFL scholarship.
Eligibility
The KAAFL Scholarship is available to students who:
- Are currently attending Fort Lee High School.
- Are currently in 12th Grade.
- Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community
service, extracurricular, or other activities.
Criteria
The 2021 scholarship will be awarded with consideration of the following criteria:
• A cover letter with an introduction (Please include contact information which
includes the student’s email address & telephone number)
• A 500 word essay that relates to the following subject matter:
“The KAAFL strongly encourages Fort Lee residents to actively participate in
their town issues. Please tell us how you can help local communities amid
the COVID-19 crisis.”
• Scholastic record and transcript (for the past two years).
• History of extra-curricular activities and leadership roles with the reference
contact info.
Application Deadline
All the required elements must be submitted by email by Monday April 5, 2021.
